বিদেশ মন্ত্রকের (MEA) সাম্প্রতিক দাবি যে পাসপোর্ট নাগরিকত্বের প্রমাণ নয়, এটি একটি আক্রমণ যা বৈষম্যমূলক সিএএ এবং এনআরসি-র পরিপূরক হিসেবে প্রণীত। এই আপত্তিকর ঘোষণা, যা এমনকি বৈধ রাষ্ট্র-প্রদত্ত নথিগুলিকেও বাতিল করে দেয়, তা চলমান এসআইআর (SIR) প্রক্রিয়ার সাথে উদ্বেগজনকভাবে মিলে যায়। এই সমন্বিত কৌশলগুলি সবচেয়ে দুর্বলদের ভোটাধিকার হরণ, অবৈধ ঘোষণা এবং উচ্ছেদ করার একটি অশুভ কৌশল, যা তাদের রাষ্ট্রহীনতার দিকে ঠেলে দিচ্ছে। নাগরিকত্বকে হাতিয়ার করে, সরকার যাদের বাদ দিতে চায় তাদের ভোটাধিকার খর্ব করে একটি সাম্প্রদায়িক নিবন্ধনের ভিত্তি স্থাপন করছে।

Central Committee Communique
ভারতের কমিউনিস্ট পার্টি (মার্কসবাদী)-এর কেন্দ্রীয় কমিটি ১১-১৩ জুলাই, ২০২৬ তারিখে নয়াদিল্লিতে মিলিত হয়ে নিম্নলিখিত বিবৃতি প্রকাশ করেছে:
ভারতের অর্থনীতি
বিজেপি নেতৃত্বাধীন কেন্দ্রীয় সরকারের দাবির বিপরীতে, ভারতীয় অর্থনীতি এক গভীর সংকটের দিকে রয়েছে। রিজার্ভ ব্যাঙ্ক অফ ইন্ডিয়ার (RBI) জুনের বুলেটিন অনুযায়ী, ২০২৬-২৭ সালের প্রকৃত জিডিপি (GDP) বৃদ্ধির হার ৬.৬ শতাংশ ধরা হয়েছে, যা ২০২৫-২৬ সালের ৭.৭ শতাংশ থেকে কম। পিএমআই (PMI) তথ্য ইঙ্গিত দেয় যে জুন মাসে বেসরকারি খাতের বৃদ্ধি গত তিন মাসের মধ্যে সর্বনিম্ন স্তরে নেমে গেছে। আরবিআই আরও উল্লেখ করেছে যে বৃষ্টিপাতের ঘাটতি এই বর্ষা কালের অর্থনৈতিক বৃদ্ধি এবং মুদ্রাস্ফীতিকে আরও নেতিবাচকভাবে প্রভাবিত করতে পারে।
বিভিন্ন রাজ্যের কৃষকরা সারের, বিশেষ করে ইউরিয়ার ঘাটতির অভিযোগ করছেন। বেকারত্ব এখনও উচ্চ পর্যায়েই রয়ে গেছে।
এই প্রেক্ষাপটেই অত্যন্ত অসংবেদনশীল বিজেপি সরকার খাদ্য নিরাপত্তা আইনে সংশোধনীর প্রস্তাব আনছে।
খাদ্য নিরাপত্তা আইনে সংশোধনী
জাতীয় খাদ্য নিরাপত্তা আইন (NFSA)-এ প্রস্তাবিত সংশোধনীগুলি অন্ত্যোদয় অন্ন যোজনা (AAY)-এর অধীনে যোগ্যতার মানদণ্ডকে পরিবার-ভিত্তিক ব্যবস্থা থেকে মাথাপিছু ব্যবস্থায় পরিবর্তন করে। এটি রাজ্যগুলির, বিশেষ করে দক্ষিণের রাজ্যগুলির উপর বিরূপ প্রভাব ফেলবে, যারা সফলভাবে পরিবার পরিকল্পনা কর্মসূচি বাস্তবায়ন করেছে এবং ফলস্বরূপ যাদের গড় পরিবারের আকার ছোট। বেনিফিশিয়ারি ডেটাবেস আপডেট করার দীর্ঘদিনের অমীমাংসিত দাবির সমাধান না করে এবং বর্তমান জনসংখ্যার পরিসংখ্যানের সাথে সামঞ্জস্য রেখে বিস্তার প্রসারিত করার পরিবর্তে, বিজেপি সরকার এমন একটি সংশোধনী আনার পথ বেছে নিয়েছে যা কার্যকরভাবে জনসংখ্যার দরিদ্রতম অংশগুলির খাদ্যের অধিকার হ্রাস করে।
সরকার এই প্রস্তাব নিয়ে এগিয়ে গেলে সিপিআই(এম) প্রস্তাবিত সংশোধনীর বিরুদ্ধে প্রচার চালাবে এবং বিক্ষোভের নেতৃত্ব দেবে।
দুর্নীতি
একটি বিশাল দুর্নীতি কেলেঙ্কারি সামনে এসেছে, যেখানে সংঘ পরিবারের নেতাদের বিরুদ্ধে অযোধ্যা রাম মন্দিরের অনুদান আত্মসাৎ করার অভিযোগ উঠেছে। সংঘ পরিবার-নেতৃত্বাধীন রাম মন্দির আন্দোলনের সামনের সারিতে থাকা অনেক ব্যক্তির বিরুদ্ধেই এখন মন্দিরের অনুদান আত্মসাতের অভিযোগ রয়েছে। এই কাজগুলি সংঘ পরিবারের আসল চরিত্র উন্মোচন করে – এটা এমন একটি গোষ্ঠী যারা আসলে ভক্তি বা দেশ নিয়ে চিন্তিত নয়, বরং চরম স্বার্থপর।  আমাদের দল সকল ভক্তদের কাছে সংঘের এই মুখোশ চিনে নেওয়ার এবং সংঘ যখন তাদের কাছে আসার চেষ্টা করবে তখন তাদের প্রশ্ন করার আহ্বান জানাচ্ছে।
গণমাধ্যমের প্রতিবেদনগুলি কেন্দ্রীয় কৃষি প্রতিমন্ত্রীর দ্বারা সরকারি তহবিল আত্মসাতের দিকেও নির্দেশ করে। সরকারকে অবশ্যই অবিলম্বে এই বিষয়ে একটি নিরপেক্ষ তদন্ত পরিচালনা করতে হবে এবং পদ নির্বিশেষে দোষীদের শাস্তি দিতে হবে। নিট (NEET) পেপার ফাঁসের পর এই ঘটনাগুলি সম্মিলিতভাবে আরএসএস/বিজেপি-র দুর্নীতিগ্রস্ত কার্যকলাপকে প্রকাশ করে, যা অন্য যে কোনও শাসক দলের থেকে আলাদা নয়।
জনতাত্ত্বিক পরিবর্তন সংক্রান্ত উচ্চপর্যায়ের কমিশন
কেন্দ্রীয় সরকার একজনও জনসংখ্যা বিশেষজ্ঞ ছাড়াই জনতাত্ত্বিক পরিবর্তন সংক্রান্ত একটি উচ্চ পর্যায়ের কমিশন গঠন করেছে। কমিশনকে পরোক্ষভাবে 'বাংলাদেশ থেকে আসা মুসলিম অভিবাসীদের' চিহ্নিত করার দায়িত্ব দেওয়া হয়েছে। এর উদ্দেশ্য হলো আরএসএস-এর এজেন্ডাকে বৈজ্ঞানিক আবরণ দেওয়া। এনআরসি এবং সিএএ-এর সাথে সামঞ্জস্য রেখে, এই কমিশনটি হলো নির্বাচনী লাভের জন্য সাম্প্রদায়িক বিদ্বেষ এবং সামাজিক বিভাজন উসকে দেওয়ার এবং সংখ্যালঘুদের লক্ষ্যবস্তু ও প্রান্তিকীকরণের প্রাতিষ্ঠানিক রূপ দেওয়ার একটি হাতিয়ার। এই পদক্ষেপটি যুক্তরাষ্ট্রীয় নীতিগুলিকেও মারাত্মকভাবে লঙ্ঘন করে, কারণ রাজ্য সরকারগুলির সাথে কোনও আলোচনা ছাড়াই এটি ঘোষণা করা হয়েছে।
নাগরিকত্ব বিতর্ক

এসআইআর, জনতাত্ত্বিক পরিবর্তন কমিশন এবং পাসপোর্টের বিষয়ে এই অবস্থান—এই সবগুলিই হলো আরএসএস মতাদর্শ অনুযায়ী নাগরিকত্বকে নতুন করে সংজ্ঞায়িত করার পদক্ষেপ, যা ভারতকে হিন্দুত্ব রাষ্ট্রে পরিণত করার ব্যস্ততা প্রকাশ করে।
বিজেপির 'অপারেশন লোটাস'
নিজেদের উদ্দেশ্য অর্জন করতে এবং দেশের গণতান্ত্রিক ও ধর্মনিরপেক্ষ চরিত্র পরিবর্তন করতে, বিজেপি নির্বাচনের ফলাফলের পরপরই বিরোধী দলগুলিকে ভাঙতে শুরু করেছে। তারা সংসদে দুই-তৃতীয়াংশ সংখ্যাগরিষ্ঠতা তৈরি করার জন্য আঞ্চলিক দলগুলিকে সচেতনভাবে লক্ষ্যবস্তু করছে, যা তাদের সীমানা নির্ধারণ বিল এবং আরএসএস এজেন্ডার জন্য গুরুত্বপূর্ণ অন্যান্য আইন পাস করতে সক্ষম করবে। এই পদক্ষেপগুলি কেবল গণতন্ত্রকে উপহাস করে এবং দলত্যাগ বিরোধী আইনকে দুর্বল করে তা নয়, বরং সাংবিধানিক নীতিগুলির প্রতি তাদের সম্মানের অভাবকেও উন্মোচিত করে।
জোরপূর্বক বাস্তুচ্যুতি এবং উচ্ছেদ
বিভিন্ন রাজ্যে, সরকারগুলি বহুজাতিক কর্পোরেশনগুলির সাথে চুক্তিতে আবদ্ধ হচ্ছে এবং জলের দরে তাদের জমি বরাদ্দ করছে। ডেটা সেন্টারের জন্য আইটি সংস্থাগুলিকে হাজার হাজার একর জমি বরাদ্দ করা হচ্ছে, যারা আদানি এবং আম্বানির সাথে অংশীদারিত্ব করেছে। বছরের পর বছর ধরে এইসব জমিতে বসবাসকারী মানুষদের জোরপূর্বক উচ্ছেদ ও বাস্তুচ্যুত করা হচ্ছে। বিহার, অন্ধ্রপ্রদেশ এবং অন্যান্য অনেক রাজ্যে এর সাক্ষী থাকছে মানুষ। বাস্তুচ্যুতির পাশাপাশি, ডেটা সেন্টার স্থাপনের ফলে ভূগর্ভস্থ জলের দ্রুত ক্ষয় হচ্ছে এবং অন্যান্য বিভিন্ন পরিবেশগত ঝুঁকি তৈরি হচ্ছে।
গুজরাটে সাম্প্রদায়িক প্রোফাইলিং
গুজরাট রাজ্য পুলিশ সংখ্যালঘুদের সাম্প্রদায়িকভাবে প্রোফাইল এবং লক্ষ্যবস্তু করতে একটি নতুন স্ট্যান্ডার্ড অপারেটিং প্রসিডিউর (SOP) নিয়ে এসেছে। এটি সংখ্যালঘুদের পোশাক এবং চেহারার কারণে সন্দেহজনক মনে হলে তাদের উপর অবৈধ নজরদারির অনুমতি দেয়। যারা ভিন্নমত পোষণ করে, এমনকি মুসলিম সংখ্যাগরিষ্ঠ দেশগুলির উপর আক্রমণের মতো বৈশ্বিক বিষয়গুলিতেও, তাদের নজরদারিতে রাখা হবে এবং ইউএপিএ (UAPA), এনএসএ (NSA) এবং বিএনএস (BNS)-এর অন্যান্য বিধানের মতো কঠোর ধারা চাপানোর হুমকি দেওয়া হবে। এই পদক্ষেপগুলি সংবিধান দ্বারা নিশ্চিত সমস্ত মৌলিক অধিকার এবং গোপনীয়তার অধিকারের লঙ্ঘন, যাকে সুপ্রিম কোর্ট অলঙ্ঘনীয় বলে ঘোষণা করেছে। এই পদক্ষেপগুলির উদ্দেশ্য হলো সমস্ত ধরণের ভিন্নমত দমন করা এবং সমাজকে আরও মেরুকরণ করা। সিপিআই(এম) নাগরিকদের সাম্প্রদায়িক প্রোফাইলিং এবং তাদের সাংবিধানিক অধিকার লঙ্ঘনের তীব্র নিন্দা করে।
বাংলায় বিজেপি সরকারের স্বৈরতান্ত্রিক রূপ
দায়িত্ব গ্রহণের দুই মাসের মধ্যেই বাংলায় বিজেপি সরকারের স্বৈরতান্ত্রিক চেহারা প্রকাশ্যে এসেছে। সম্প্রতি এক নাবালিকাকে ধর্ষণ এবং অভিযুক্তদের আড়াল করার চেষ্টা সরকারের নারী-বিরোধী, মনুবাদী চরিত্রকে তুলে ধরে। সরকার ঘোষণা করেছে যে এসআইআর প্রক্রিয়ার কারণে যাদের নাম বাদ পড়েছে, তাদের কল্যাণমূলক প্রকল্পগুলিতে প্রবেশাধিকার দেওয়া হবে না। হকারদের জোরপূর্বক উচ্ছেদের প্রতিবাদকারীদের ওপর পুলিশের বর্বরতা চালানো হচ্ছে। বিজেপির ক্যাডাররা বহু জেলায় সিপিআই(এম) কার্যালয়ে হামলা চালাচ্ছে এবং দলের পতাকা পোড়াচ্ছে। সিপিআই(এম) এই ধরনের হামলায় ভয় পাবে না। তারা বিজেপির স্বৈরাচারী ও সাম্প্রদায়িক শাসনের বিরুদ্ধে মানুষকে প্রতিরোধ ও সংগঠিত করা অব্যাহত রাখবে।
আসামের মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর উসকানিমূলক মন্তব্য
সিপিআই(এম)-এর কেন্দ্রীয় কমিটি আসামের মুখ্যমন্ত্রী হিমন্ত বিশ্ব শর্মার দায়িত্বজ্ঞানহীন মন্তব্যের নিন্দা জানাচ্ছে। আসামের প্রগতিশীল সাংস্কৃতিক ব্যক্তিত্ব জুবিন গর্গের ছবি ফ্লাইওভারে আঁকার জন্য তিনি যে এনএসএ-র কঠোর ধারা আরোপ করার হুমকি দিয়েছেন, তার তীব্র নিন্দা করা হচ্ছে। তাঁর বক্তব্য আরএসএস-এর এজেন্ডার প্রতিফলন, যা অত্যন্ত অসহিষ্ণু এবং সংখ্যালঘু ও বামপন্থী কর্মীদের লক্ষ্যবস্তু করে, একইসঙ্গে তাদের বিভাজনমূলক ও সাম্প্রদায়িক এজেন্ডাকে প্রচার করে।
কেরালাতে কর্পোরেট-পন্থী কংগ্রেস সরকার
কেরালা সরকার কর্পোরেটদের কাছে রাজ্যের স্বার্থ সমর্পণ করছে। নতুন মন্ত্রীদের শপথ গ্রহণের দিন থেকেই কংগ্রেসের নরম হিন্দুত্ব এবং আপসমূলক চরিত্র পুরোপুরি দৃশ্যমান। আগের এলডিএফ (LDF) সরকারের চালু করা জনকল্যাণমূলক ব্যবস্থাগুলিকে বর্তমান সরকারকে দুর্বল করতে দেবে না সিপিআই(এম)। মানুষের অধিকার রক্ষায় তারা জনগণকে সংগঠিত করবে।
মার্কিন-ইরান সমঝোতা (MoU)
কেন্দ্রীয় কমিটি ইরান এবং মার্কিন যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের মধ্যে স্বাক্ষরিত সমঝোতার (MoU) ভঙ্গুরতা লক্ষ্য করেছে। ইসরায়েল লেবাননে আক্রমণ অব্যাহত রেখেছে, যা এই চুক্তির চরম লঙ্ঘন। এই এমওইউ মার্কিন সাম্রাজ্যবাদী আগ্রাসনের সীমাবদ্ধতা প্রদর্শন করে। জনগণের ক্রমবর্ধমান ক্ষোভের কারণে মার্কিন যুক্তরাষ্ট্র এই সমঝোতা স্বাক্ষর করতে বাধ্য হয়েছে। বিশ্ববাজারে তেলের দাম কমেছে। তা সত্ত্বেও, ভারত সরকার গ্যাস, পেট্রোল এবং ডিজেলের বর্ধিত দাম কমানোর পদক্ষেপ নেয়নি। সরকারকে অবিলম্বে এই দাম কমাতে হবে এবং কৃষকদের জন্য সার, বিশেষ করে ইউরিয়ার সহজলভ্যতা নিশ্চিত করতে হবে।
বিধানসভা নির্বাচনের ফলাফল
কেন্দ্রীয় কমিটি সদ্য সমাপ্ত বিধানসভা নির্বাচনের ফলাফল নিয়ে একটি গভীর ও বিস্তারিত পর্যালোচনা করেছে। প্রচার পরিচালনার ধরন, বিষয় উপস্থাপন, প্রার্থী নির্বাচন ইত্যাদি ক্ষেত্রে কিছু ত্রুটি ও দুর্বলতা চিহ্নিত করা হয়েছে। এই ত্রুটি ও দুর্বলতা কাটিয়ে ওঠার জন্য দল আন্তরিকভাবে একটি সংশোধনমূলক প্রচার চালাবে। বাংলা (আগস্টের শেষ সপ্তাহ) এবং কেরালায় (সেপ্টেম্বরের দ্বিতীয় সপ্তাহ) দলের রাজ্য কমিটিগুলির বর্ধিত সভায় এর জন্য গৃহীত সুনির্দিষ্ট পদক্ষেপগুলি ঘোষণা করা হবে।
ভবিষ্যতের কর্মসূচি 
কেন্দ্রীয় কমিটি ভবিষ্যতে নিম্নলিখিত কর্মসূচিগুলি গ্রহণ করার সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে:
  • নির্বাচনী সংস্কারের প্রচার: সম্পূর্ণ নির্বাচন প্রক্রিয়ায় স্বচ্ছতার দাবিতে কেন্দ্রীয় কমিটি একটি বিস্তৃত ও ব্যাপক প্রচার শুরু করার সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে। ভারতের নির্বাচন কমিশন (ECI), যার একটি নিরপেক্ষ সাংবিধানিক সংস্থা হিসাবে অবাধ ও সুষ্ঠু নির্বাচন পরিচালনা করার কথা, তারা পুরোপুরি আপস করেছে। ভোটের অধিকারের দাবিতে এবং নির্বাচন কমিশনের স্বাধীন ও নিরপেক্ষ চরিত্র রক্ষার জন্য দল সর্বাধিক জনগণকে সংগঠিত করবে।
  • মহিলা সংরক্ষণ বাস্তবায়নের প্রচার: আইনসভায় মহিলাদের জন্য সংরক্ষণের অবিলম্বে বাস্তবায়নের দাবিতে নারী সংগঠনগুলির ডাকা বিক্ষোভে কেন্দ্রীয় কমিটি সমর্থন জানিয়েছে। দল অন্যান্য শ্রেণী ও গণসংগঠনের সাথে এই দাবির সমর্থনে জনগণকে সংগঠিত করবে।
  • সাম্রাজ্যবাদ বিরোধী প্রচার: ইরান, প্যালেস্টাইন, ভেনেজুয়েলা এবং কিউবার ওপর মার্কিন আগ্রাসনের বিরুদ্ধে দল ব্যাপক সাম্রাজ্যবাদ বিরোধী প্রচার চালাবে। মার্কিন আগ্রাসনের বিরুদ্ধে সেমিনার, সভা এবং প্রতিবাদ বিক্ষোভের আয়োজন করে জনগণকে সংগঠিত করা হবে।
  • শ্রমিক ও কৃষকদের বিক্ষোভ: কেন্দ্রীয় ট্রেড ইউনিয়ন (CTU) এবং এসকেএম (SKM) এর দেওয়া প্রতিবাদকে কেন্দ্রীয় কমিটি সমর্থন করে। ২০২৬ সালের ১০ আগস্ট তাদের দেওয়া 'জেল ভরো' কর্মসূচিকে দল পূর্ণাঙ্গভাবে সমর্থন করবে।
শিক্ষার্থীদের দাবিতে সমর্থন: কেন্দ্রীয় শিক্ষামন্ত্রী ধর্মেন্দ্র প্রধানের পদত্যাগের দাবিতে শিক্ষার্থীদের বিক্ষোভ এবং ২০ জুলাই সংসদে অভিযান করার তাদের ডাককে কেন্দ্রীয় কমিটি সমর্থন করে। এই দাবিগুলিতে অনশনরত শ্রী সোনম ওয়াংচুকের স্বাস্থ্যের অবনতিতে কমিটি উদ্বেগ প্রকাশ করছে। এই দাবিগুলি মেনে নিতে এবং ব্যবস্থা নিতে বিজেপি নেতৃত্বাধীন সরকারের অস্বীকার করা অত্যন্ত নিন্দনীয় এবং এটি তাদের স্বৈরাচারী ও যুব-বিরোধী চরিত্রের আরেকটি জ্বলন্ত উদাহরণ।

The Central Committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) met from July 11-13, 2026, in New Delhi and released the following communique:
Indian Economy: Contrary to the claims made by the BJP-led Union government, the Indian economy is staring at a severe crisis. According to the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) June bulletin, the real GDP growth for 2026-27 is projected at 6.6 per cent, down from 7.7 per cent in 2025-26. PMI data indicates that private sector growth slipped to a three-month low in June. The RBI also noted that a rain-deficient monsoon could further impact growth and inflation. 
Farmers in various states are complaining about the shortage of fertilizers, particularly urea. Unemployment continues to remain high.
It is in this background that the most insensitive BJP government is proposing amendments to the Food Security Act.
Amendment to the Food Security Act: The proposed amendments to the National Food Security Act (NFSA) changes the entitlement criteria under the Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) from a household-based system to a per capita system. It will adversely impact states, particularly the southern states that have successfully implemented family planning programmes and consequently have smaller average household sizes. Instead of addressing the long-pending demand of updating the beneficiary database and expanding coverage in line with current population figures, the BJP Government has chosen to introduce an amendment that effectively reduces the food entitlements of the poorest sections of the population.
The CPI(M) will campaign against the proposed amendments and lead the protests if the government goes ahead with its proposal.
Corruption: A huge corruption scandal has come to light, where Sangh Parivar leaders were alleged to have appropriated Ayodhya Ram Temple donations. Many individuals who were at the forefront of the Sangh Parivar-led Ram Temple agitation are now accused of misappropriating temple donations. These deeds expose the real character of the Sangh Parivar – a group of organisations that are not really concerned about devotion or nation, but as being utterly selfish. The Party appeals to all devotees to see through the facade of the Sangh and question when it tries to approach them.
Media reports also point to the misappropriation of public funds by the Union Minister of State for Agriculture. The government must immediately conduct an impartial probe into this matter and punish all those who are guilty, irrespective of their positions. These incidents, following the NEET paper leak, collectively expose the RSS/BJP’s corrupt practices, which are no different from any other ruling party.
High Level Commission on Demographic Change: The Union government has notified a High-Level Commission on Demographic Change without a single demography expert. The commission is implicitly tasked with identifying ‘Muslim immigrants from Bangladesh’. The intention is to provide a scientific cover for the RSS agenda. Aligning with the NRC and CAA, the commission is a tool to stoke communal hatred and social division for electoral gain, institutionalising the targeting and marginalisation of minorities. This move also severely violates federal principles, as it was announced without any consultation with state governments.
Citizenship Controversy: The MEA’s recent assertion that a passport is not proof of citizenship is an assault designed to complement the discriminatory CAA and NRC. This outrageous declaration, which nullifies even legitimate State-issued documents, dovetails alarmingly with the ongoing SIR process. These coordinated manoeuvres constitute a sinister strategy to disenfranchise, delegitimise, and purge the most vulnerable, pushing them towards Statelessness. By weaponising citizenship, the government is laying the groundwork for a communal registry while eroding the franchise of those it seeks to exclude.
The SIR, the Demographic Changes Commission, and this passport stance are all moves to redefine citizenship according to RSS ideology, revealing the haste to convert India into a Hindutva Rashtra.
BJP’s ‘Operation Lotus’: In order to achieve its objectives and change the democratic and secular character of the country, the BJP set about breaking opposition parties immediately after the election results. It is consciously targeting regional parties to manufacture a two-thirds majority in Parliament, which would enable it to pass the delimitation bill and other legislation crucial to the RSS agenda. These moves not only make a mockery of democracy and undermine the anti-defection law, but also expose their scant regard for constitutional principles.
Forced Displacement and Evictions: In various states, the governments are entering into agreements with multinational corporations and allocating them land at throw-away prices. Thousands of acres of land are allocated to IT companies for data centres, who have partnered with Adani and Ambani. People who have been residing on these lands for years together are forcibly evicted and displaced. This is being witnessed in Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, and many other states. Apart from the displacement, the establishment of data centres is also leading to the rapid depletion of groundwater and posing various other environmental hazards.
Communal Profiling in Gujarat: The Gujarat state police have come with a new standard operating procedure (SOP) to communally profile and target minorities. It allows illegal surveillance of minorities who are perceived to be suspicious because of their dress and appearance. All those who express dissent, even on global issues concerning attacks on the countries with Muslim majority countries, will be placed under surveillance, with a threat of slapping stringent provisions like the UAPA, NSA and other provisions of the BNS. These moves are a violation of all the fundamental rights guaranteed by the Constitution and the right to privacy, stated as inviolable by the Supreme Court. These moves are intended to curb all forms of dissent and further polarise society. The CPI(M) condemns the communal profiling of citizens and violation of their constitutionally guaranteed rights.
Authoritarian Face of the BJP Government in Bengal: Within two months of assumption of office, the authoritarian face of the BJP government in Bengal is out in open. The recent rape of a minor girl and attempts to protect the accused exposes the government’s anti-women, Manuvadi character. The government announced that it will not allow access to welfare schemes to those persons whose names were deleted due to the SIR process. Police brutality is unleashed on those who are protesting against the forced  eviction of hawkers. BJP cadre are attacking CPI(M) offices in many districts and burning Party flags. The CPI(M) will not be intimidated by such attacks. It will continue to resist and organise people against the BJP’s authoritarian and communal rule.
Provocative Statements of the Chief Minister of Assam: The CC of the CPI(M) condemns the irresponsible statements of the Chief Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswas Sharma. His statements threatening to impose draconian NSA provisions on those who are drawing the images of progressive cultural personalities of Assam like Zubeen Garg on flyovers have to be condemned. His statements are a reflection of the RSS agenda, which is highly intolerant and targets the minorities and Left activists, while promoting its divisive and communal agenda.
Pro-Corporate Congress Government in Keralam: The Keralam government is surrendering the interests of the state before the corporates. The soft Hindutva and compromising character of the Congress has been in full display right from the day of swearing in of the new ministers. The CPI(M) will not allow the government to weaken the welfare measures introduced by the previous LDF government. It will mobilise people in defence of their rights.
US-Iran MoU: The CC noted the fragility of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between Iran and the United States. Israel continues its attacks on Lebanon, flagrantly violating the agreement. The MoU demonstrates the limits of US imperialist aggression. The US was compelled to sign this MoU due to growing popular anger against its aggression. Oil prices have declined in global markets. Despite this, the Government of India has not taken steps to reduce the increased prices of gas, petrol, and diesel. It must immediately cut these prices and ensure the availability of fertilisers, particularly urea, for farmers.
Assembly Election Results: The CC conducted an in-depth and detailed review of the results of the recently concluded assembly elections. Certain shortcomings and weaknesses in the way campaign was conducted, issues were posed, selection of candidates, etc., were identified. The Party will sincerely conduct a rectification campaign in order to overcome these shortcomings and weaknesses. The concrete steps that will be undertaken will be announced in the extended meetings of the Party state committees in Bengal (last week of August) and Keralam (second week of September).
Future Calls
The CC decided on the following future calls:
Campaign for Electoral Reforms: The CC has decided to launch a broad and extensive campaign demanding transparency in the entire election process. The Election Commission of India (ECI), which is supposed to act as an impartial Constitutional body by conducting free and fair elections, is thoroughly compromised. The Party will mobilise broadest possible sections demanding the right to vote and safeguard the independent and impartial character of the ECI.
Campaign for Implementation of Women’s Reservation: The CC extends support to the protests called by the women’s organisations for the immediate implementation of the women’s reservation in legislatures. The Party will mobilise people in support of this demand along with other class and mass organisations.
Anti-Imperialist Campaign: The Party will conduct an extensive anti-imperialist campaign against US aggression on Iran, Palestine, Venezuela and Cuba. It will mobilise people by organising seminars, meetings and protest demonstrations against US aggression.
Protests by Workers and Farmers: The CC extends its support to the protest calls given by the Central Trade Unions (CTUs) and the SKM. The Party will wholeheartedly support the Jail Bharao call given by them on August 10, 2026.
Support to the Students’ Demands: The CC supports the protests conducted by the students demanding the resignation of Union Minister for Education, Dharmendra Pradhan and their call to conduct a March to the Parliament on July 20. It expresses its concern at the deteriorating health of Shri. Sonam Wangchuk who is on a hunger strike on these demands. The refusal of the BJP led government to accept these demands and take action is highly condemnable and is yet another example of its authoritarian and anti-youth character.
